Obituary for Preston Rice II
Preston Rice II, 40, our beloved and cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend took his last breath on Wednesday, July 8th 2020.
Nomadic Rambler, Philosophical Thinker, Gifted Sesquipedalian, Universal Seeker, Nature Lover, Poet and Master of Puns.
Preston will forever be in the hearts of his father, Preston Rice, his mother, Janet Rice, his sisters, Lara Lee Rice (Matt Ionna), Rebecca Jo Rice (Bradley Blue-Sky Maybury), Dora Rose Rice (Todd Gray), Maggie Marie Rice (Marcus Dorsey); his brother, Wilson James Rice (Amy Schwarber Rice); his nieces and nephews, Louis Kamdin Ionna (Katelyn Bachmann), Madeline Lee Ionna, Oliver Jacob Rice (Haley Jane Lane), Sebastian Linc Armstrong, Mia Bella Ionna, Quency Jax Armstrong, Evanee Cain Rice; and his faithful companion, Nico Suave.
Preston was born on October 14, 1979 and grew up in Alexandria, KY. Those who could get close enough, knew Preston loved the great outdoors, competing (via cards, corn-hole, a game of pool, or a controversial debate), and sharing obscure facts and interesting information. He was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing philosophical ideas and alternative points of view on current events. He loved his family deeply and even served as a temporary nanny in more than one instance. He taught our kids how to accomplish goals from beating a boss in a video game to shooting a bb-gun and hitting the target. He was a trickster with a giant heart and a mischievous grin who liked to debate beneath the stars. Always thoughtful and ready for a get together.
Friends and relatives are invited to join Preston’s family in a celebration of life at Pendery Park, 4113 Williams Ln, Melbourne, KY 41059, Saturday, July 11th from 11 – 5.
Memorial begins at noon tributes/ stories are welcomed. Cooper Funeral Home is serving the family.
