Notes

Douglas Gosney, 86, of Alexandria, KY, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter and son-in-law on April 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia Wagner Gosney, his father Emery Gosney, his two sisters-in-law Lola Del Hess Craig and Wanda Pfansteil Gosney, and four nieces and nephews. His wife, Marilyn Hess Gosney, also preceded him in death just two weeks prior. He is survived by his daughter, Amber Brocker (Greg), his Grandson, Tanner Hamilton (Sydney) and two Great-Grandsons, Rueger and Rhett. Doug was a Veteran of the Army Reserves, owner of Complete Concrete Contractors for 35 years, and in his retirement, worked for Smith and Jolly Landscape. When time allowed, he enjoyed hunting, attending car shows with his truck, “One Last Fling”, and spending time with family. During his retirement, he could be seen doing random construction jobs with his favorite little helper, Tanner, by his side. As a father and grandfather, he never missed a dance recital, football, baseball, or basketball game or trap shoot that his daughter and grandson were involved in. His marriage of 64 years to his wife, Marilyn, and his passing just two weeks after her is a testament to true love as now they will spend eternity together in Heaven. Visitation will take place at Cooper Funeral Home on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4pm-7pm. Service will start at 7pm. Graveside burial will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10am in Alexandria Cemetery. The family requests that you wear cowboy boots and jeans to honor Doug. Donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice in memory of him. Cooper Funeral Home is serving the family.

I have known Doug for 50 plus years.
His company poured all the foundations for the Drees company that I worked for. He was the most respected concrete company in Northern Kentucky. He was very particular about his work. He held his workers to those standards as well.
I got to know Doug and his wife Marilyn better when his Grandson Tanner shot trap for the Northern Kentucky scholastic trap team. Two of the most nicest people in the community! Rest in peace Doug. I know you are reunited with your sweet wife in heaven. God bless you both. Dennis and Sharon Menning
