Notes

William “Rob” R. Rose, 62 of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the LeConte Medical Center overlooking the beautiful Smoky Mountains as the sun was rising.

He was born on December 26, 1960 in Warren, PA, a son to the late James F. and Sharron L. (Lord) Rose. Rob was a 1978 graduate of Youngsville High School and a 1982 graduate of Otterbein University. He worked for Blair Corporation as a Retirement Benefits Coordinator for 25 years, and most recently for Fidelity Investments as an Implementation Project Manager.

Rob was an avid, life-long runner, competitively running in both high school and college. He shared the love of Christ, making a tremendous impact on so many lives. He led youth group, volunteered at soup kitchens for work, spent quiet time fishing with friends, and always had time for his buddies. He enjoyed coaching cross-country, track, and basketball for his children and most recently his grandchildren. Rob and his wife, Julie, loved camping and spending time hiking together. He was a gentle and steadfast man, loving and caring for his family and those around him.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Julie (Cowan) Rose, whom he married on February 26, 1983. He meant the world to his family: Amanda (Shawn) Foster of Alexandria, KY, Alison (Grant) Allen of Cincinnati, OH, and Andrea (Adam) Gnessin of Seattle, WA, his grandchildren Elias and Averi Foster and Evelyn and Jocelyn Allen, and brothers Scott (Kris) Rose of Youngsville, PA, Bob (Lisa) Rose of Youngsville, PA, and Michael (Korena) Rose of Herington, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren Co., 1 Main Ave., Warran, PA 16365, or to Campbell County High School Cross Country, Toni McKee 909 Camel Crossing, Alexandria, Ky 41001.

A private service will be held at Plum Creek Christian Church in Butler, Kentucky followed by a burial at Warren County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.

Julie and Family,

I was saddened to have heard today about Rob’s passing last week. He and I knew one another since 1994 when he was at Blair and I was his relationship manager at Fidelity. I was always impressed by his strong work ethic, his compassion for people, and his love and devotion to his family and friends. He will be missed greatly. I wish you much strength during this difficult period. I am so glad that he and I kept in touch down this way over the years. God rest his soul and bless all of you.

With my deepest sympathy,

Julie- I was so saddened to hear of Rob’s passing. He was such a wonderful person to have as a contact at Blair. I was so excited when he was hired by Fidelity as I knew I would again be working directly with him on many projects. He had such a nice way of expressing himself even if he was frustrated. It made him such a joy to work with over the years. I am so sorry for your loss.

Julie and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Rob's passing. I worked with Rob both at Fidelity and The Standard. Rob was always such a kind person and often spoke of his family. I know how much Rob was looking forward to spending more time camping, hiking and spending time with family. I know words can never replace your loss, but I want you to know what a wonderful and kind person he always was with his co-workers. I am sorry for your loss.

Our prayers and love surround each one of you. There aren’t any words that make this easier. Rob was one of those gems that always shined. His light will always shine through each of you and through all of us that had the privilege to be part of his family or knew him.

Our hearts are so sad, but I know that there was a huge welcoming party in heaven and he was greeted with the words “well done my good and faithful servant”.

Psalm 121 is one of my favorites, may it bless you🙏🏻
Love you all,
Jan
