Mary Joan Steffen, 84 of Alexandria KY entered the gates of Heaven on March 10th, 2023 with loving care all at her bedside at River Valley Nursing Home. She was the daughter of Clem and Emma (nee Boschert) Lauer. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Cold Spring KY where she volunteered with the St. Joe’s prayer line. She also was a member of the St. Mary Ladies Society and the St. Mary’s Catholic Order of Foresters. Her children were blessed with a devoted, faithful mother as their role model who taught them to love the Lord at all times. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank L. Steffen, infant son Frank John Steffen, brothers Herman and Carl Lauer and sisters, Viola Geiger, Delores Hundemer, Jean Rawe and Jane Lauer Overberge. Mary is survived by her daughters; Judy (Jerry) Rief, Joyce (Wayne) Stadtmiller and Janet Robertson. Son; Greg (Beth Ann) Steffen. Brother; Ervin (Judy) Lauer. Sister; Helen Kremer. Along with 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home from 5pm-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 at St. Joseph Cold Spring, 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 at 11am with burial immediately following in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to River Valley Nursing Home Activity Fund, 305 Taylor St., Butler KY 41006 or The Sisters of Notre Dame, 1601 Dixie Hwy, Park Hills KY 41011. Cooper Funeral Home is serving the family.

Deepest Sympathy to the Steffen Family,
Your Mom was such a wonderful lady who always would greet us with such joy!
We knew her from St Joes Church,school cafeteria, Foresters,prayer network.
She was always helping others..
