William Baker, 84, passed away on January 5th, 2022. He was the son of Alex Baker and Annie (nee Herald) Baker. In his free time, you could find him playing the banjo with many gospel bands. He also loved getting out and going fishing and playing golf. He was a Deacon at the New Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and Alfred and Burnettie Baker; In addition to his loving wife, Gayle Baker and brothers; Robert, Alfred, Ronald and Joe Baker. He is survived by his daughters; Jeni (Dave) Ervin and Rhonda (Mike) Brand. Son; Billy (Jean) Baker. Brothers; Dexter and Randall Baker. Sisters; Sylvia Reis, Sarah O’Neil and Alpha Jones. Grandchildren; Ryan, Brandon, Brittany, Lindsay, Kyle, Caleb, Joshua, Collin, Cameron and Micah. Along with 10 Great Grandchildren and special friend, Sandy. Visitation will be held at New Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church, 1143 Central Ave, Newport, KY 41071 on Monday, January 9th, 2023 from 4pm-7pm. Service will be held at 7pm. Graveside burial will be held on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at Johns Hill Cemetery at 11am. Cooper Funeral Home is serving the family.
