Jeffrey Charles Verst, 34, passed away on July 25, 2022, at his farm in Brooksville, KY. He was the son of Barbara (Sacksteder) Verst and the late William J. Verst.
He was a graduate of Bishop Brossart High School, Nashville Auto Diesel College, and was certified as a Master Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Master Ford Mechanic. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Technician for the Hydraulic Division of Maxim Crane in Wilder, KY. Jeff was the proud father of a 2-year-old daughter, Alice. He loved caring for and playing with her. She was the light of his life. When he wasn't working on trucks in his garage, he could be found with his dogs, lighting bonfires and setting off fireworks. His other hobbies included enjoying the outdoors, riding ATVs, and playing video games. Jeff was a hard worker and an extremely talented mechanic, equipment operator, stone mason, landscaper, and carpenter. He will be remembered for his compassionate heart, that often lead him to help complete strangers on the side of the road, and the many laughs he shared with brothers, friends, and family.
In addition to his father, Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Rita Sacksteder and William G. Verst, his aunt Kathleen Wagner, and uncle John Carmack.
He is survived by his daughter, Alice, siblings, Wendy (Eric) Schabell, William D. Verst, Jamie (Dustin) Parks, Stephanie (Rob) Antony, and Chip (Allison) Verst, and 10 nieces and nephews. Other survivors include his grandmother, Betty Verst, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
